Pumpkin Decorating Competition at Athens!
It's Halloween season and the Book Club at Athens High School hosted its annual school wide pumpkin decorating competition on Thursday, October 23rd. Students from all grade levels got to show off their creativity. The judges were looking for the most creative and well-decorated pumpkin. Book Club was excited to announce this year's winners! First Place went to Sahasra Bathula who is a sophomore at Athens. Her pumpkin was Nemo. Very creative!
Second Place was awarded to Batool Fatima who is also a sophomore at Athens. The sophomores swept the leaderboard! Batool's pumpkin has a spooky skeleton design was extremely detailed. Very talented Batool! Both winners get to choose one gift card whether it's Starbucks, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble. The pumpkin decorating session was much more than just a contest, it was a cozy, festive autumn gathering. Participants chose between three different pumpkin sizes and some beautiful paint colors to bring their pumpkins to life. Alongside this, Book Club had a lot of amazing food there such as hot chocolate, whipped cream, marshmallows, root beer, cheese puffs, and brownies. While the competition went well, Book Club hopes to see an increase in participation next year! This competition is an amazing way to meet new people and show off your creative side.
Stay tuned for the next pumpkin competition, Book Club hopes to see you there!
