“Peter and the Starcatcher” at Troy High School
If someone’s looking for a thrilling experience, Troy Theatre Ensemble’s production of Peter and The Starcatcher is the perfect play to watch. This play, written by Rick Elice, is a comedic prequel to Peter Pan, explaining how an orphan with no name became the well known Peter Pan. The story follows a group of orphans on a ship, encountering pirates and “starstuff”, which they have to protect from evil hands.
The flow from scene to scene was so seamless, and not to mention the acting skills of the actors. All of the characters stood out for their humor and stage presence, including Ted (played by Olivia Urben) for her portrayal of an innocently mischievous boy that was craving actual food and had a love for pork, Captain Black Stache (played by Valentino Micene) who was hilariously funny and had an air of charisma towards his evil persona.
There is a lot of work that was put in into the set build, which was manoeuvred smoothly by stage hands, that you wouldn’t notice the transition! Lights and audio were crystal clear. Overall, the putting together of the production wouldn’t be possible without all the cast and crew, and especially Mr. Vickers. Another show to look forward to in the near future (spring) is Les Miserables with show dates are in April!
