Athens Symphony Orchestra Attends MSBOA

The Athens High School Symphony Orchestra attended the annual MSBOA (Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association) Orchestra Festival on March 6th. The state orchestra festival requires the ensemble to perform a certain number of pieces for the judges to evaluate. They must also sight-read an unprepared piece after being given 5 minutes to review.

The Symphony Orchestra performed St. Paul’s Suite, in which they played movements 1,3, and 4. The overall score of the performance is calculated by combining the ratings of each judge. Not only did they score a 1, the highest rating possible from a scale of 5, but they also successfully received all A ratings from the judges!

Congratulations to the Athens Symphony Orchestra for their great performance!
